Detailed correctly engine compartment with windshield washers One of only 9,761 built Mercury Monterey SunValley had a transparent green tinted roof section of quarter inch plexiglass. Mercury claimed interior temperatures in Sun Valley rose only five degrees in direct sunlight, but I would say more in Dallas. Sun Valley had a special interior trim combinations and body color schemes not offered on other body styles. Dream cars has transparent roofs before but the Sun Valley and Ford’s Skyliner were the first to offer this feature to the public. In addition to making scenery more viewable, the see through roof is good for overhead traffic lights and provides the same weather protection as a solid steel top. Rare accessory Mercury steering wheel. NOS step plates, some NOS emblems and extra set of wheelcovers. I have owned several 1954 Mercury Sun Valleys in the past , kept one for 16 years. Very few are of this quality and the ones that are seem to belong to exclusive private collections. The 1954 Mercury Sun Valley Glasstop is destined to become a milestone collector car. Have you seen a nice one lately? |
